Privacy Policy

Summary

This policy covers Finale for Jellyfin, on Google Play, the App Store and finale.radioterra.xyz, developed and published by Paul Schuegraf.

Finale is an independent open-source music player. The app does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on servers operated by the developer. There are no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs that report on you.

What Finale stores on your device

• Your Jellyfin server URL, username, and access token. The token is kept in the platform's secure storage: the Keychain on iOS and macOS, the Android Keystore, or the system keyring on Linux. In the web player it is kept in your browser's storage for this site, which is not as strongly protected — sign out on shared computers.
• What you were playing (the queue and your place in it), what you have played recently, and a small number of settings, such as whether the Playlists tab is shown.
• A cached copy of library metadata and album art, so the app starts quickly and shows your library while the server is out of reach.
• Music you choose to download, with its album art, so it plays offline. It stays on the device until you remove it in the app (Settings → Downloads) or uninstall Finale.

None of this data leaves your device except in the form of normal requests to the Jellyfin server you configured.

Network connections

Finale only connects to the Jellyfin server you enter during setup. It does not contact any developer-operated backend, analytics endpoint, or advertising network. If your Jellyfin server is on a private network (for example, reachable only over a Tailscale tailnet), Finale will not connect to it from outside that network.

Like other Jellyfin apps, Finale tells your server what you play — the track, when it started and stopped, and your position — so plays show up in your server's history, play counts, and "now playing". Plays made offline are noted on the device and sent once the server can be reached again. These reports go only to your server.

What your Jellyfin server records about your activity is governed by that server's own policies, set by whoever runs it — usually you.

Third-party services

None. Finale ships with no analytics, no crash reporting service, no ads, and no social or login providers.

Children's privacy

Finale is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, regardless of age.

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new "last updated" date.
